Every Shower Type, Built Right From the Start

Whether you want a curbless walk-in shower, a traditional alcove remodel, or a steam shower with floor-to-ceiling tile, we handle the full scope — demo, waterproofing, substrate, tile, and grout.

Alcove shower renovations — the most common bathroom update, fully waterproofed and tiled.
Curbless (barrier-free) showers — precision sloped floor for proper drainage, fully accessible.
Walk-in showers — open concept, linear drain, and large-format tile.
Steam showers — full tile enclosure with a vapour-proof ceiling slope and steam unit prep.
Tub-to-shower conversions — remove the tub, frame in, waterproof, and tile from scratch.
Built-in niches & benches — tiled shelving and benches integrated into the shower structure.
Our Process

How a Shower Renovation Works

Every project follows the same disciplined sequence — no shortcuts on the layers that matter most.

1

On-Site Estimate

We visit your home, assess the existing shower or bathroom, take measurements, and discuss your tile preferences, budget, and timeline. You receive an itemized written estimate within 48 hours.

2

Demolition & Substrate Prep

We remove all existing tile, board, or surround. Framing is inspected and any rot or structural issues are addressed. The substrate is prepared to spec — flat, solid, and ready for waterproofing.

3

Waterproofing System

We install a complete waterproofing system: cementboard backer, liquid membrane, fibre-reinforced seam tape at all joints and corners, and pre-slope on the floor. This is the most important step.

4

Tile Layout & Installation

We plan the tile layout for visual balance — centring patterns, managing cuts, and ensuring consistent grout joints. Tiles are set in the correct thin-set for the tile type and format.

5

Grouting & Finishing

Grout is mixed, applied, and cleaned. Silicone is applied at all change-of-plane joints. Fixtures are reinstalled and the shower is inspected before handoff.

Common Questions

Shower Renovation FAQs

Tile work on a typical alcove shower runs 4–7 business days. Add 1–2 days for demolition, and allow for grout cure time before use. Larger showers, complex tile patterns, or curbless floors with pre-slope work take longer. We give you a specific timeline at estimate.
Yes — always. Waterproofing is not optional and is never skipped. We use a liquid membrane system (RedGard or equivalent) with reinforced fabric tape at all inside corners and joints. Floor-to-wall transitions are sealed. A shower built without proper waterproofing is just a matter of time before it fails.
Yes. Large-format tile requires a very flat substrate (within 3mm over 3m), the correct lippage-minimizing wedge spacer system, and the right trowel notch for full coverage. We work with large-format regularly and carry the equipment to support it.
Yes. Curbless showers require a properly installed pre-slope, centre or linear drain, and precise tile work to achieve the correct pitch to drain. We handle all of it — including linear drain specification and waterproofing the sloped mud floor.
Yes. Many clients source their own tile from suppliers like Centura, Ciot, or Saltillo. We provide square footage guidance plus an overage recommendation (typically 10–15%). We can also source tile on your behalf if preferred.
Our estimates itemize: demolition, substrate and backer installation, waterproofing system, tile supply (if we're sourcing) or tile installation only, grout, silicone, and fixture reinstallation. Plumbing rough-in is not included unless specified — we coordinate with a licensed plumber when needed.
